I absolutely love this flute. I ordered a Low D Double Drone, and it is extraordinary. It’s beautiful to look at, beautifully made, and with a deep, rich, resonant sound that you can feel as much as hear. The drone creates this wonderful quality that makes playing it feel completely immersive.
What made the experience especially meaningful was Jimmy himself. From the time I ordered, he stayed in touch with me personally as he worked on the flute, letting me know when he started making it, when it was finished and drying, and when it was ready to ship. He even made and sent me a video playing my actual flute before sending it to me. You rarely experience that kind of connection with the person who made something you own.
The flute has such a warm, soulful voice, and you can feel the craftsmanship in it. This isn’t something that feels manufactured. It feels made by a person who genuinely cares about his craft and about the instrument that ultimately ends up in your hands. It felt much more like commissioning an instrument from an artist than simply purchasing one. I’m incredibly happy with mine and feel very lucky to have it.
